These electronic cylinders can be used on their own or integrated with our series 7 or series 8 mechanical cylinders. The 9 series cylinders have all of the standard benefits of the standard mechanical cylinders with the added advantage of a re programmable microchip which is located within the key bow. When a key is inserted into a cylinder the ‘reader’ within quickly works out if it is authorised or not. If the key is mechanically and electronically compatible with the cylinder it will open in the normal manner.
