This system allows a door that opens into a room to be opened outwards in the event of someone collapsing against it. We recommend that emergency opening double action pivoted doors be positioned within the frame in the same place they would be if hung on standard hinges. This allows for a greater opening angle under normal operation and prevents the door being forced against the frame when opened.

If however the door is hung in the centre of the frame an extended striking plate for the lock will be required. These are available for the 70, 71, 72 and 73 serieslocks and the frame dimension will be required when ordering. We also recommend using some form of privacy seal with this product.
